ACADEMICS

General Education & Non-Degree Courses

Logan University offers students the ability to take undergraduate, graduate and general education courses, whether in preparation to complete a degree at Logan or to transfer to their current college or university.

General Education

Logan University promotes learning through liberal arts integration within discipline directed education. We want our graduates to become well-rounded citizens that are proficient in their field of study and have skills in quantitative reasoning, effective communication, appreciation of fine arts, experience models of scientific, historical and societal inquiry, apply information management, and gain knowledge in intercultural diversity concepts. Logan University’s general education plan consists of a common core of curriculum offerings necessary to equip graduates for successful and fulfilled lives as educated and active citizens.

Non-Degree Courses

Students are able to take academic courses from any of Logan’s programs permitting they meet the course requirements or have approval from the Dean.

The Flexible Accelerated Science Track (FAST) program is designed to help students complete basic science coursework at a faster pace and complete two semesters (one academic year) of credit in selected science courses in one 15-week trimester. Each trimester is broken into two 8-week sessions with a maximum of two FAST courses per-session allowed.

Logan University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, as such, it is reasonable to assume credits are transferable across colleges and universities in the United States. Students should note that some institutions choose to only accept coursework as electives. Some schools require copies of the course syllabus prior to approval of the course for credit. Students are urged to contact the institution of interest to inquire directly regarding institutional policy for accepting transfer credit from dual credit or concurrent enrollment courses prior to enrolling.
